As a sculptor with an affinity for working mainly in wood, I produce small to large scale carvings.
My work focuses on the essence of plant, animal, and marine life-forms and the spirit within.
The challenge lies in making the most of the materials to hand, by experimenting and improvising.
The sculpture evolves organically as a growing thing - inspired by the dynamic energy of Nature - their sculptural completeness complemented by the surface patterns, textures and colour that make each one unique. The journey of the work takes shape through the familiar figurative and the strangeness of abstraction.
Between 1978 and 1983 attended Brighton Polytechnic and Chelsea School of Art; moving to Lincoln in 2002.
I have developed my work through outdoor events, gallery exhibitions, commissions and community group projects.
Examples of my public art work within Lincolnshire can be seen in the grounds of Lincoln Castle and on the Spa Trail between Woodhall Spa and Horncastle.
